I know there have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/how-much-have-you-lost-on-the-trim-healthy-mama-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">been times in my life<\/a> when I look back at pictures, I can see that the &#8220;light&#8221; in my eyes seems to be missing. Not only do I see it, but I have had friends point it out. So my number one tip for beauty, is find your joy.<\/p>\n<p>Another important part of being beautiful is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/first-world-problems-ungrateful-heart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">learn to be grateful<\/a>. Sometimes, I struggle with this as I tend to be less than optimistic\u00a0at times&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Having a beauty routine is also important!\u00a0Now, there's definitely room for improvement in my routine, but I wanted to share it anyways along with some suggestions for you along with reminders for myself! Being in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/your-fabulous-forties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my mid-forties<\/a>, you might not think I should be giving beauty advice, but remember, beauty comes from within and I know so many beautiful ladies in their 60's, 70's, 80's and even a few in their 90's. Consider Mrs. Nancy Reagan who recently passed away, she was a beautiful lady in my opinion. Just look at her back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2009\/07\/nancy-reagan200907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2009 in Vanity Fair<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>5:00 am<\/strong> &#8211; Wake up from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/improve-your-sleep-improve-your-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good night's sleep<\/a>, meaning you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/count-your-sheep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">went to bed on time<\/a> and got a full night's sleep. After a quick stretch, It's my time to Get together with God (i drink a cup of coffee with added protein<\/p>\n<p><strong>6:00 am<\/strong> &#8211; Head to the Gym (some people do this in the afternoons or evenings, I'm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/love-hate-relationship-with-exercise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not a fan<\/a> most days so I have to get it over with before I talk myself out of going.<\/p>\n<p><strong>things to take to the gym<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sanitizer spray (I carry a small bottle of Thieves)<\/li>\n<li>antibacterial gel (I don't sell it, but I do carry a bottle of Thieves hand gel)<\/li>\n<li>if you shower at the gym (no i don't), bring your own towel\u00a0to reduce the risk of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercola.com\/Downloads\/bonus\/mrsa-virus\/report.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MRSA<\/a> (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureui) &#8211; and trust me, it happens, it's happened to friends of mine and also teenagers I know from school locker room\/gym showers&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>take\u00a0flip flops for the shower to decrease the chance you might pick up fungi or bacteria. Please&#8230;just thinking about it&#8230;Ewwww<\/li>\n<li>if you lift weights &#8211; use gloves to avoid calluses<\/li>\n<li>heart rate monitor for staying in the zone<\/li>\n<li>earbuds, if you don't have a workout buddy \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>7:00 am<\/strong> &#8211; Beauty Routine &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shower or spot wash using products you've <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ewg.org\/skindeep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">checked out to be low or no toxins<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ditch your antiperspirant because it only makes you smell worse, plus it's bad for you! Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/quit-using-deodorant\/\">deodorant<\/a> instead, or just use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/my-experience-with-coconut-oil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coconut oil<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Take care of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/dental-fillings-affecting-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">teeth<\/a> using a soft bristle brush, dental floss<\/li>\n<li>Practice nasal cleansing with this exact\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/24QenIE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">neti pot<\/a>, I've used it for years and never get sinus infections!<\/li>\n<li>For skincare, I usually keep it simple. Most days I just use a konjac sponge and some cream to cleanse my face&#8230; I do have other tools and products but I am often trying to get so many things done that they drop to the bottom of my priority list<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>7:45 am<\/strong> &#8211; Eat a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/protein-for-breakfast-to-burn-fat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">healthy breakfast<\/a>. This\u00a0means you're gonna eat something besides cereal. I also take vitamins: my <em>bare-bones<\/em> vitamin includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>vitamin D<\/li>\n<li>magnesium<\/li>\n<li>krill oil or fish oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>During the day<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; You are most likely very busy during the middle part of your day, whether you are at work, school or at home. Some important beauty tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out<\/li>\n<li>Practice good posture, if you are sitting, try to sit up straight and keep your wrists lower than your elbows at the keyboard<\/li>\n<li>Don't forget to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/using-ben-wa-balls-for-bladder-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">practice some Kegels<\/a> to build your girly muscles<\/li>\n<li>Sitting is the new smoking, if you are tied to a desk, occasionally stand up,<\/li>\n<li>To be focused and make the best use of your time, make a priority list and be realistic<\/li>\n<li>Find ways to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/reduce-stress-for-superior-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reduce stress<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Smile, be genuine<\/li>\n<li>If you can, having plants in your environment helps <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/top-13-chemicals-to-avoid-in-your-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clean the air <\/a>and makes you healthier<\/li>\n<li>Keep curtains or blinds open if you have the option<\/li>\n<li>During\u00a0breaks take a walk to get a little exercise and a new perspective<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lunch break<\/strong> &#8211; don't skip lunch! It's also important for beauty to maintain proper digestion;\u00a0eat slowly, focus on your food and pack good healthy lunches\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/how-to-pack-lunch-for-your-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pack a lunch for your man<\/a>! When I worked in an office, we often ate at a desk, and you might do that too, but if you have a choice, eat elsewhere! Now that I am working and teaching school at home, I like to eat outside when possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be Yourself<\/strong> &#8211; one of the most important aspects of being beautiful is to be authentic. Don't try to be someone else. My daughter Ivy is a great example of this. She's so unique and she isn't ashamed of it. She's an amazing artist and has had her work featured in several exhibits. Also, have a mid-afternoon snack, don't forget protein, manage stress,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep a sense of humor<\/strong>. Laugh at yourself! My daughters have taught me so much through their work ethics. I won't go into\u00a0details, but both have experience working in the beauty industry (one as a career and one just short term) and have overcome so much cattiness that can go on there and ended up with lifelong friends in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>My daughter Macey (below) has taught me so much about not limiting your dreams, giving people a second chance, and how to get over yourself. Who says children don't' teach their parents?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2909\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"DSC00066\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-300x400.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-600x800.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-800x1067.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC00066-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dinner time<\/strong> &#8211; enjoy dinner with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/surprising-benefits-of-family-meals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">family<\/a> and \u00a0good music, limit your\u00a0alcohol and preferably stick with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doctoroz.com\/article\/cheers-red-wine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dry red wine<\/a>, take evening vitamins and consider adding some of the following fats and oils to your diet to improve the look of hair, nails, skin, and figure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/my-experience-with-coconut-oil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coconut oil<\/a> &#8211; besides being a metabolism-boosting oil, this wonderful oil can help keep your skin and hair in amazing shape,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/super-stellar-health-benefits-of-red-palm-oil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">red palm oil<\/a> &#8211; like coconut oil, this tropical oil has about half fewer calories per gram of fat than do soy, corn, or safflower<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/rachel-ray-and-evoo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">olive oil<\/a> &#8211; an omega-9 fatty acid, using olive oil in foods can give you that Mediterranean glow, don't heat olive oil, no matter what Rachel Ray says!<\/li>\n<li>flaxseed oil gives skin a beautiful glow. It is important to nourish your skin from the inside out. Flaxseed oil keeps your skin looking wrinkle-free longer. Keep this oil refrigerated as it can go bad in as little as three months. If your health food shop has a large and small bottle, choose the smaller one and replenish it more often.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evening routine<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; do it for your sanity; check your calendar, think about tomorrow, items such as food, water, clothes, vitamins. Always remove your makeup before bed, moisturize your face and take care of your teeth. I usually just &#8220;clean up&#8221; in the morning and shower at night. I like to go to bed clean and relaxed. \u00a0I take a detox bath or a shower and use <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/rGHEaMDdPEg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">magnesium body butter<\/a> on my feet right before bed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Go to bed<\/strong> in your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/create-a-bedroom-oasis-for-better-sleep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oasis<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatorganicmom.com\/know-youre-sleeping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sleep well<\/a>\u00a0without lights or <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_q9L-sxS9kQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">electronics<\/a>!
